How to prepare baby out fits before turning them into Memory Keepsakes

Is your precious little ones clothes stained with yellow marks from storing?

Have you received hand me downs that is a perfect condition but has terrible yellow stains that just doesn't want to come out?

Here is some step by step instructions to get all those yellow marks out of your little ones clothes before turning them into keepsakes, storing or preparing for a new baby.

This is what I did, I got some Hydrogen Peroxide I had at home, regular dish washing soap and Bicarbonate Soda. Mixed it up really well and followed the instructions on the blog. It really worked well and will be a my go to stain remover from now on. I found all the info on this blog.

Hydrogen Peroxide, Dawn Dish washing soap and Baking Soda. 3 things everyone pretty much always has on hand. You do 2 parts peroxide and 1 part Dawn and baking soda. I mixed up a lot so I did 1 cup of peroxide and 1/2 cup of the Dawn and soda.

If you're not up for all this mixing and experimenting, good old Nappi San/Vanish will do the trick.  Run really hot water in a large bucket and dissolved the Nappi San in the water and soak clothes for at least 24 hours.  Chuck all the clothes and water in the machine and wash on the longest cycle. Hang it out to dry in the sun.  If stain is still there make up a solution 2 tablespoons lemon juice and a 1/4 cup of water and spray it on the stain an hang it out in the sun again.  You should have success by now if not repeat the whole process again.

Option 2:

Back in my MCN Modern Cloth Nappy days I use to use Mockin' Green (Rockin Green alternative) and it worked like a charm.

Here is the recipe:

Mockin’ Green – Homemade Rockin’ Green

Mockin’ Green – How to make homemade Rockin’ Green

1kg tub Ecostore (only found in Woolies)

200gm Lectric Soda

Combine the powders and use 1 tablespoon with each wash or a few tablespoons to soak. This alternative has the same ingredients as Rockin’ Green.

Soak clothes in warm to hot water for at least 24 hours for best results.  Hang out to dry in the sun and Ta Daaa all done!

Hope all this info is helpful to prepare your little ones outfits for their special Memory Keepsakes. More info here on how to order your very own keepsake.
